Crew Member Job Description
As a Crew Member, you are the foundation of every shift. Everything that happens in this store — every order taken, every pizza made, every customer who leaves happy — runs through you. This topic describes what your role actually looks like day to day.
Core Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Answer phones within three rings using the Cassano’s greeting
- Take orders accurately and read them back to the customer
- Greet walk-in customers promptly
- Handle complaints calmly — listen, apologize, resolve, escalate to a manager if needed
- No personal phone calls while on the clock
Food Preparation
- Prepare pizzas, subs, and other menu items to Cassano’s build specifications
- Follow portion charts — not estimates, not guesses, not personal preference
- Maintain product quality and consistency on every item, every shift
- Rotate stock using FIFO (first in, first out)
Register & Cash Handling
- Ring orders accurately
- Count back change
- Never leave the drawer open or unattended
- Report any till discrepancies to your manager at the end of your shift — do not try to “fix it” yourself
Cleaning & Stocking
- Keep your station clean and organized throughout the shift
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks at open, mid-shift, and close
- Restock supplies before you run out, not after
- Trash goes out when it is full — not when it overflows
Following Direction
- Execute manager direction promptly and without arguing on the floor
- If you disagree with something, bring it up privately after the rush — not in front of customers or coworkers
- Ask for help before you get stuck, not after the mistake is made
What “A Good Shift” Looks Like
You arrived on time in full uniform. You knew your station within the first five minutes. Orders went out accurately and quickly. Your area was cleaner at the end than it was at the beginning. You made at least one customer feel genuinely welcome.
That is the standard. Every shift.
What Cassano’s Provides
- Training that prepares you for your first solo shift
- A manager who is accountable to you as much as you are to them
- A clear path to advancement for anyone who wants to grow
Every manager at Cassano’s started where you are now. If you want more responsibility, more pay, or a defined career path — say so. The company intentionally develops people from within.
